Well...hello there!  I'm not exactly new...

I've been absent from these boards for far, far too long now, and I'm so happy to see them still active!  I miss my LotR fandom and having rewatched the films last night with the full intention of re-reading the book once my essays and exams are done, I thought I'd come say hello once more!  Not sure how active I'll be at the moment, but I couldn't think of a better place to say hello - so, hello!  Forgive my absense?

   Hi everyone...my screen name is Ninde, real name is Pat. I was in the midst of a FF of Elrond, have/had it posted on several Yahoo groups, and a site called scriboz. Real life matters caused me to stop writing, and am now finally able to get back into it. Imagine my surprise this evening when I found that the scriboz site is now a site for comiics. Anyway, did a search on yahoo, and find this group. Hoping that I can retrieve all my previous chapters for my story and finally finish it...

I'm Rían, 17 years old, from France (in the South). I'm a high school student. I want to say that I'm sorry for any mistake I'll make, I'm not used to expressing myself in English Please feel free to correct me!

Tolkien is my favorite author ever, LotR my favorite book ever, Faramir my favorite character ever, Gondor my favorite (fictional) country ever.
I'm madly in love with Faramir , but I like, respect, admire his father too. Boromir is not bad either   

I've been a fan of PJ's movies before being a book fan, but that quickly changed and I think I can say I've become a "purist". I can't approve of his portrayal of either Gondor or Denethor or Faramir or their family dynamic, among many other things, in his adaptation.

Cressida directed me there, and I'm really grateful. I've been able to visit a little and it looks like a very nice little forum, focusing on my favorite family. The discussions there seem to be insightful, polite, and truly interesting in spite of the fact it's a small broad. And I'm glad to discover there are so many Denethor fan out there, the poor man doesn't get the respect he deserves.

Well, I think that's all. 

Oh, hooray!  I'm glad you came to check us out, Rian!  Please do feel free to respond to any of the threads that look interesting.  And don't worry about your English--in the first place, there are quite a few people here who don't have English as a first language, and in the second place, your English is just fine!

It really looks cool here, everyone seems so nice. It's different from all those other big forums I've seen where people are regularly flamed and all   I'm just sorry there has not been much activity of late...

I actually don't know if I'd be able to post a lot in the following month, because I'm going to Morocco on vacation and I'm not sure I will have internet there. But I have recorded a lot of threads on my computer so that I will be able to explore more during this time
