Two things...

2.  Anyone who has Photoshop access/skills, do you think you could make a smaller, non-animated campaign button?  I'd like to put the campaign in my .sig file on some of the message boards where I post, and I'm pretty sure they don't allow animated images in .sigs.

I've also sent the announcement to the SPCD and Steward_fics LJ communities.  It's awaiting moderation in both places.

Any other ideas on where to send it? And have all of us here who have written Denethor stories already written to ff.net to request the category?  If not, how about if we all try to get a message sent in the next week?  I think this is going to have much more of an impact if we coordinate our efforts so that the requests come in fairly close together.  So how about it, Cadiliniel, Chris and Astara? 

Erm, actually not. Since I'm not registered with ff.net, I doubt doing that would make sense.

Now you'll probably ask why I'm not a member, especially since I also write fanfic. It's because I rarely visit ff.net. I've only found very few interesting LotR stories which were exclusively archived there, so registering just has never appealed to me, even though I could possibly reach more readers there than at The White Tower, OS, or the member section at HASA.

I'll perfectly understand if you find my attitude a bit weird. It doesn't mean I don't value your efforts, so don't let yourself be discouraged by   me!     

Oops--sorry, Astara!  I thought you did have an account there for some reason.  You're excuse.

I've set up an Angelfire account, and made this page: http://www.angelfire.com/freak3/cadiliniel/denethorcampaign.html  It's very simple at the moment - but if you all agree making a page like that for it is a good idea, I could make it a bit snazzier, add buttons and stuff for people to use, and then we can link to it??  What say you? *g*

The site's a great idea as well. I could host the page at the noble-steward.net domain if you like, to get rid of the pop-ups and other ads. I will also make an announcement at Nobility ASAP and put up a button or something (and a link to the campaign site). I'm not sure how many people actually visit Nobility but there are probably quite a few Denethor fans among them.

The site without the ads can now be found at http://campaign.noble-steward.net . I'm trying to figure out a way to give you access to the subdomain so you can make changes to the site... *scratches head* How did you create the site at Angelfire? Do they have some kind of page builder thingie?

Yeah, it's all done by page builder, so I don't know any HTML stuff etc (well, except the obvious!) in order to make changes.

I've put the banner in my .sig file for TORn now!  Let's hope it produces some results!

Chris, the homepage looks great!  Just one thing:  the links are so dark that I can barely tell they're there.  Dark blue on a black background is really hard to see.  Do you think you could change the color?  Also, maybe we should add something to the page giving people blanket permission to spread the word, distribute links, use the banner, etc.

Also, do you think we should start writing individual authors and asking for their support?

I noticed..! So now he's pestering Sharpe, bouncing around and asking for war stories and to be allowed to play with his rifle! It's a lot of fun, though often a bit chaotic, to share your head house with so many lovely boys!

We should maybe try and think up a list of authors first - the only one I can really think of is Anna Milton - I think you'll probably be able to come up with more than that, Cress, seeing as you read much more fic than I do!

Does Anna Milton post on ff.net?  I've seen a few Denethor-only stories there; I'll try to draw up a list of the authors and see if I can get email addresses.  And I'm bad *looks guilty*--I still need to post "The Steward's New Clothes" so that I can write to the support address myself.
